Security Notice: Beware of Spoofed Calls and Text Messages

Scammers are known to try and spoof OUR Credit Union’s phone number and contact members by phone or text message. These fraudulent messages often ask you to click a link or provide personal information under the guise of verifying your account.

How the Scam Works

Scammers can manipulate caller ID and text message information to make it appear as though the message is coming directly from OUR Credit Union. These messages may create a sense of urgency and direct you to click a link or share sensitive details such as login credentials or security codes.

What You Should Know

OUR Credit Union will never:

  • Ask you to click a link to verify your information via text
  • Request your one-time passcode or security (2FA) code
  • Ask for personal or account information through unsolicited calls or text messages

What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Call or Text

If you receive a message or call that seems unusual or unexpected:

  • Do not click on any links or provide personal information
  • Log in to your online or mobile banking to review your account activity
  • Contact OUR Credit Union directly using our main phone number

How to Protect Your Account

We encourage members to take advantage of built-in security features:

  • Enable debit card alerts through OUR CU Card Controls
  • Customize alerts by transaction type, merchant category, and more
  • Monitor your accounts regularly for any unusual activity

Be cautious of any unexpected call or text that creates urgency, asks you to click a link, or requests personal information or security codes. Even if the message appears to come from OUR Credit Union, it could be spoofed.

What should I do if I clicked a link or shared information?
Contact us immediately using our main phone number. We can help secure your account and review recent activity. You should also change your online banking password as soon as possible.

Will OUR Credit Union ever contact me by text?
We may send informational alerts, but we will never ask you to click a link, provide personal information, or share a security (2FA) code via text.

What is spoofing?
Spoofing is when scammers disguise their phone number or sender ID to make it look like a trusted source, such as OUR Credit Union, is contacting you.
